Faire Face is an association dedicated to combating gender-based violence by organizing feminist self-defense workshops. Through training in mental, verbal, emotional, and physical self-defense, they empower women and gender minorities to build self-confidence and autonomy. To enhance inclusivity, Faire Face aims to establish LGBTQIA+ specific self-defense sessions across France, focusing on rural areas in Occitanie region. This two-part project starts with national gatherings of self-defense trainers to address LGBTQIA+ specific issues like LGBTQIA+phobia and partner violence in non-cis-hetero relationships. The project’s second phase will implement regional workshops to address community needs, especially those of rural LGBTQIA+ groups.
