Centar za žene, majke i djecu – RETO

Suffering in silence: intimate partner violence - victimisation, psychological or sexual violence - of women living with addiction problems

RETO centre serves women who suffer from addiction as they are often an easy target for GBV violence, especially sexual. They are less likely to report the violence due to social stigma, or if pregnant go to a gynecologist out of shame and the fear they could lose custody of their children. RETO enables children to stay with their mothers while in rehabilitation.

Project activities include direct support of Mobile Team in Zagreb and Rijeka Counties, housing (complete care 24/7) for women with addiction who suffer psychological and sexual violence from their partner; medical, psychiatric, psychosocial and legal assistance.
