KAYAD’s proposed project focuses on shifting perceptions of gender roles and promoting gender equality to address the root causes of domestic violence in Northern Cyprus. The project includes workshops in rural middle schools, training for teachers on gender equality and nonviolent behavior, and mentorship programs for youth ambassadors to foster leadership and awareness.
Additionally, KAYAD plans to run social media and billboard campaigns to raise awareness about domestic violence and pressure lawmakers to prioritize passing stalled domestic violence legislation. The long-term goal is to educate youths, strengthen community understanding of gender justice, and create systemic change through education and advocacy.
