The Feminist Hiking Collective aims to create healing and empowering spaces through nature retreats focused on feminist leadership and collective care. Targeting survivors of gender-based violence and marginalized groups, the project involves two 5-day retreats in the Italian Alps, centered on hiking and feminist popular education. Activities include resilience-building, trauma-informed workshops, and empowerment for self-care.
The program encourages collaboration, with facilitators trained in replicable methods to support ongoing anti-violence work. Outcomes will be documented in a toolkit for wider use, and evaluation will use qualitative and quantitative methods for continuous improvement and adaptation to participants’ needs.
